Throughout this campaign, I would think you've gotten to know us pretty well.  If so, you know this shipping fiasco with damaged and delayed shipments has caused me to lose quite a bit of sleep. Not only because I can't sleep, but because I spend my nights dealing with a 13 hour time difference. Should this matter to you? Not one bit. I'm doing what I promised I would do, although it's taken way longer than I hoped. But it very much matters to me that you know how much it means to me that we end up with happy backers.  If you receive damaged games, we will replace it. If it's just the box shell, we'll send you a new box. Just send me pictures so I can share with our friends in China. [email protected]   

I've read some messages complaining that the backers that spent the most money are being penalized by the extra wait, and that it possibly should've been the other way around.  We did not set a priority list for who got what and when. The distributor simply chose to ship the easiest shipments first, and I believe this is actually going to be a blessing in disguise.  We are receiving notice that roughly 21% of the packages received some kind of damage, so I am grateful this was on the initial shipments which contained less goods to damage. 

 

If this trend continues, that would be rather catastrophic considering we are sending 5,600 packages from SFC. If you've received your package, please make sure you take this quick one question survey to let us know you got it.  I truly hope more adoptions took place than have reported, because I'm hoping that percentage will shrink.

WHAT'S NEXT?
I finally was able to get the SFC tracking data uploaded to Backerkit. I'm sorry this took so long, but there was a glitch in the system. And by glitch, I mean I was doing it wrong. But the 3,500 packages that have been shipped or have already arrived are now accurately handled in the system.  I believe you should have received an e-mail from Backerkit alerting you to this. If you didn't get an e-mail, it means your package is in the warehouse being prepared or the system lied to me about you being notified.  I am preparing my documented evidence with the pictures of damages for SFC to review, but I'm being assured that the future packages will have a better success rate than the past. We'll see.  We will release our hold on the shipments tomorrow, and I hope to have all tracking information uploaded this week. If I fail, please know it's not for a lack of trying. 

EU ORPHANS
GamesQuest is organizing everything and I'm hopeful they start the process of sending packages towards the end of this week. I am communicating my concerns regarding safe arrival of your packages, and certainly look forward to a better experience. 

Again, for those of you that have received damaged goods, please let me know. 
For those of you that have received your orphans and are happy...PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I kind of need some good news.

ORPHAN ARRIVAL

NON-EU ORPHANS
Some of you have commented and messaged that the game has arrived, which makes me super excited.  Unfortunately, we are also hearing about damage to the boxes, which is quickly creating a Boogeyman situation.  If you are like me, I receive my packages and get right to playing, but don't stop to report anything unless there's a problem.  So, I need your help, please.  

Answer this survey only if and when you receive your package. This is simply a question about how your package arrived.  I truly hope this is a case where I hear about the damaged goods, but not all the many undamaged, but to be transparent...I'm freaking out right now.  If you haven't received your package yet, please come back to this survey when you do.  THIS SURVEY IS ONLY FOR NON EU BACKERS.

 

If you answered that you did receive damaged goods, please send pictures to my e-mail address at [email protected].  Please understand that I am doing my best to get everyone taken care of. If you need me to know something, direct message me through KS or send me an e-mail.  

I know some of you that have not received tracking information yet are wondering why. I promised you would, and you will...eventually.  But, even though 80% of the packages have shipped, I am not releasing the rest until I hear from those of you that have received packages that it's safe to do so. I'm very upset to learn that the extra money I spent on "strengthened packaging" is not what I expected.  I have done everything in my power to get these orphans in your hands safely, and I'm finding myself very concerned. 

EU ORPHANS
Everything is at GamesQuest now and they expect to start shipping next week.  

Sorry for the tone of my update, but delivering this game to you in a manner that you are happy with is simply too important for me to accept mediocrity.

ORPHAN SHIPPING UPDATE #4,097 (or so it seems)

NON EU ORPHANS
Where are we? Just finished my nightly session with SFC in China, and as of 2am Monday morning, just over 3,000 of the 5,600 orders have been processed. It would be a little more, but I spent the weekend fixing errors that the SFC system red flagged as being irregular or incompatible, such as fields that had too many characters, or city codes that didn't match according to their system among other things.  So at this point, the orders that are still needing to be batched are the US based orders with multiple items.  This should be completed by Tuesday, which should allow for 100% of the orders to be out the door. I know many of you have received notification, albeit suspicious looking, from SFC indicating your packages are on their way. I certainly hope this goes for everyone else by midweek, but we'll just have to hope the Boogeyman isn't lurking. For those in the US, I did confirm that the last leg for delivery is USPS, but I'm still awaiting confirmation whether signatures are required or not.  

EU ORPHANS
The boat has docked, and now the process of getting everything cleared is underway.  Most importantly, we wired the funds to pay for customs and VATS, so your orphans are now officially EU Friendly.  According to early time estimations, we should have everything in GamesQuest's hands ready to start shipping by the first of next week.  

So, that's where we are at this moment. I truly hope to start hearing good news from some of you having received your undamaged packages very soon.

QUICK ORPHAN UPDATE

Hey all,

NON-EU ORPHANS
Just a quick update to let you know where we are with delivery. I was told two weeks ago that the initial shipments would go out the following week, which should have been last week, but that didn't happen. To be honest, I'm not sure what delayed it, but I've tried to figure it out so I could better interpret the schedule moving forward.  That said, they have started moving.  I got confirmation last night that the first 900 packages have been shipped as of today. I still have some questions for them about tracking information and how long it will take for the rest of the 5,400 shipments being sent, but wanted to at least give you this news. I have made myself available 24 hours a day to them to make sure I don't slow anything down, so hopefully we have gotten over any hurdles now.  Fingers crossed.

EU ORPHANS
For the orphans bound for the EU, they are still on track. Some tracking has suggested early arrival, but I have not heard anything from GamesQuest to suggest anything better than I've already reported at this point.  I am still hoping things continue to move smoothly so we can start shipping late July/early August.  

I am traveling today, so please understand if I'm slow to answer any individual requests, but I will do my best to keep everyone as updated as I possibly can.  You've truly been the best backer family these orphans could have asked for!

WHO GOES THERE? COULD IT BE THE DELIVERY GUY?

I hope everyone had a great weekend and are getting ready for your orphans.

The first wave of of shipments from Send From China are scheduled for this week. They are starting with those shipments that are only the game with no additional items, so the rest should start moving shortly thereafter. If you sent a message about address changes or needing delays, those notes have been entered, but everything is locked from this point on. As a reminder, this is only for non-EU backers at this time. The boat is still set to arrive for EU backers on 22 July.
