A deplorable tabletop game devoid of joy, hope, or humor; which, regrettably, is also far more awesome than it has any right to be.

STRETCH GOAL ROOKIE MISTAKES
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 23, 2016 at 04:00:15 PM

A few of our backers have understandably addressed concerns with our stretch goal release and set up.

Below is our response left in the comments section. As of this post, we have tried to make some amends by:

1) fulfilling the first stretch goal* and

2) Lowering the last two goal by $2000 and $10,000 respectively.

We plan on getting a LOT of things wrong during this campaign... but upsetting our actual backers is not one of them.

FROM OUR COMMENTS:
we honestly see and understand your concerns, and as first time creators, the short and simple answer is: we made a mistake. We had a grave error in guessing how much interest there would be in our little project. And we could not be more thankful... and we want to make things right. A large part of our stretch goal outcome is simply business-fulfillment-based math. We do not want to promise anything we can't deliver. Period. We would rather (though it pains us) admit we underestimated our backers than to ultimately over promise and under deliver in regards to the expenses we would need to deliver exactly what (and when) we are promising. Frankly, we expected to just surpass the 4K goal. In which case we could have on-demand printed and/or fulfilled with local options and gotten everyone what we promised. We DID have a contingency for a larger response, but honestly didn't think we would need to present them this quickly. THANK YOU for surprising us, though. It means a lot. There is other math stuff involved...and business stuff... but that is all Rick's court, and we don't let him touch the internet. Trust us, it's for the best. We seriously invite any of our backers who are understandably concerned with our goals or any campaign issues to contacted us at [email protected]. Help us give an answer to "here's how we make this right NOW." We welcome input, criticism, and even a good lambasting. God knows we were expecting it. Thank you all for you help and for this amazing response. We are going to try to make this all worth it. And have some fun along the way. As long as Rick doesn't screw it up. -The Team

*DESPITE UNLOCKING THIS GOAL... we would LOVE to still see some Boogeyman Sightings videos, if possible. If you want to. No pressure. (please)

STRETCH GOALS ARE UP!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 23, 2016 at 02:30:54 PM

Just remember...

...you asked for them.

Meanwhile... when we should have been doing USEFUL project work...
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 23, 2016 at 05:10:01 AM

We're right this very moment finalizing a few of the $#'s on our stretch goals to assure that coming through on them* will have MINIMAL (if any) impact on our ability to make our promised delivery dates.

(*We, like most of you, have little faith such fund raising will be possible, but apparently people like "optimism" in the form of graphically expressed goals.)

Meanwhile, early this morning, one of our backers made a comment, and we made a comment back, and one thing lead to a-sleep-deprived-nother and then this happened:

So, basically... this whole delay is this @Greg Hardy guy's fault.

Let this be a lesson to all of you: we need very little excuse to screw around, thank you very much.

FOR FUNDING OUT LOUD
over 7 years ago – Mon, Aug 22, 2016 at 05:37:54 PM

Dear funders,
We don't have our stretch goals ready.  And, we don't think it's out of line to say, honestly, that this is all your fault.
We fully expected it to take anywhere from 30 to 45 days for us to reach anywhere near 4K. We were simply not prepared to stumble upon so many seemingly wretched, soulless. morose individuals willing to throw money at such a hopeless cause.
     We love you.
That said, now we must start working the on the next phase of this travesty. We think the stretch goals will equally depress and delight you, even if, in all likelihood, they fail to be reached.     In the end, the Orphans are likely to be lost.     Not that it matters...     After all, they're Orphans...

It's not like anyone will miss them when they're gone.
